As i type this post i am looking to buy the final steel plates that will put me at lvl 60 magic.

My pure will soon have 60 magic 40 hitpoints and probably 39 combat (38 now)

but when i just reached it, i begin to wonder
I have never seen anyone in rune armor below the level of 44
and since i decided that those low lvl rune wearers will be my primary source of pk income, wouldnt it be easier having a lvl of 44-46 so i can fite them at the lowest wildy levels?

So, to get my combat to 45ish i have several ideas, pls help me choose or suggest your own.

1) defence to 20
i dont think this is a good idea, but in one RSB post i read that the perfect mage pure would have 20 def and 60+mage?? i really doubt that, but nevertheless it is an option.

2) prayer to 43
This is the idea i like the best, despite the hard work i will have to do. Can anyone tell me what lvl i will be with 43 prayer levels?

3) Range to 60
The hp gain will get me the levels i need, but i dont like this either, i dont know why, i just have a bad feeling about this.

4) Magic to 70
OMFG i am so sick of trainiing magic, but i have to see the truth in this and put this up here. Probably not gonna choose this since i wont be able to unlock new spells anymore.

anyway help please, got to get back to high alching.

Why would one need 60 range for a mage pure? mt017

Well, then it wouldnt be a mage pure... But many pkers have like 6o att 70 str 70 range 70 mage
and call themselves pure

Prayer would be best, if you were pking and someone turned on protect prayers, you could too, make the fight fair.

heres my suggestion:

1)become member
2)High alch yew longs till 85 magic
3)get 20 defence
4)do mage arena

That would be an ok pker, but nothing special. If you want it to be really good, id say extend it, by getting:

1)85+ range (fight against mages, hp lvls)
2)70 attack (whip)
3)90+ strength

Pk by wearing full mystic, equipted with a god staff. Use teleblock, entangle and charged god spells. Switch between melee and range as necessary.

Thank you danago for all that input, but I'm f2p and didn't have the slightest idea about most things that you said.

Having chosen a course to train by, could you now please explain the mechaics of maging in p2p?

mechanics of maging
when u mage in f2p u can only do spells up to lvl 59
continuing to mage just raises ur lvl and does more damage(i think)
if ur f2p the other spells are jsut continuations and the god spells are like u need staffs from a quest
saradomin strike
claws of guthix
flames of zamorak

u also use two new runes in p2p=
soul runes and blood runes
blood runes are found in wildy
soul are bought in magic guild

u can use special battlestaffs which are also good weapons

lava staff:dropped by monsters and gives unlimited earth AND fire runes

u can use combination runes to save space

u can use ancient magicks after u do desert treasure
need special staff, u get like 30 all new super cool magic spells and they all have a special effect

once u do barrows armor or something u can get ahrims armor with cool magic bonuses

i guess thats it
someone can add stuff if i missed anything

uh yeah i got some advice to become a pure mage i would suggest oh i don't know did it ever accur to you to practice your magic :roll:

Minion, read my first post will you? I said that I'm done with f2p mage, theres no reason to train higher, i cant learn new spells, but I want a higher level.

BTW i got lvl 61 blasting people to bits in wildy .
