Please move this if this isn't in the right section.
I recently downloaded Gimp for Windows. Everything was going fine until I started to run the setup thing. As soon as I hit "Run" it says this, "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program,". Anyone know why it's doing this? If no one knows how to fix this, is there a similar program like Gimp that can LEGALLY be used for free?

same problem with me try downloading from a new mirror or if you are doing that try the direct download if that still doesn't work try a secondary web sight like download.com

http://www.splashup.com/ its online so no download needed, just hit jump right in.

GIMP is legal, so that's not the problem.
If a new mirror and/or secondary source don't work, try waiting a few days. Accidents happen, fortunately they're usually quickly fixed.
