Both those skills are equal. If you want looks, I'd say the Firemaking cape looks very nice with full Gilded Rune. The Cooking cape would also look good with some clothes.

Cooking is easier to train than firemaking, and has more use. You can cook food.

FIremaking takes longer to train but doesn't have a good use, just a cool cape and emote.

I myself am doing Firemeaking, because like I said before, I am getting Gilded Rune with the cape.(Gilded Rune is GOLD rune armour! You can buy it from GE)

I'd have to say that I prefer the Firemaking cape over the Cooking cape. Although both are fairly easy to get relative to the other achievement capes, Firemaking requires attention clicking to the process of lighting logs and banking whereas you don't need to pay attention to the screen while level Cooking other than the banking process.

I say cooking. Because ou can fish then cook. And you can cook while fming. So i guess i say both

Firemaking is good for those who want Inferno Adze (works like d axe, dont forget) and use hand cannon.

A:you lose money if you cook your own food, so no use in having 99 just to cook food.

B:firemaking does have uses, inferno adze lets you make longer woodcutting trips because some logs are burnt, this allows for 99 wc on something besides ivy somewhat faster if you wanted. Although now Ivy is superior.

C:firmaking also makes hand cannons break less often.

I voted Firemaking cause, essentially, both are pretty useless skills but FM has a few ups on Cooking.

- The cape and emote are prettier XD
- Inferno Adze
- There are less Firemaking capes around
- If I remember rightly, back when I played properly, Firemaking was more respected than cooking.

But both are buyable 99s and therefore neither will be as respected as the other skills you can get a 99 in. Also I highly doubt many people with 99 Cooking are still Cooking their own food, but that's just opinion. Also, with the whole buyable thing, Firemaking can be done (albeit slowly) for around 5m (?) with Willows, whereas cooking takes a whole lot more.

cooking can be done for about 3m IIRC. and cookings faster. and the majority of skills are "buyable" and to be honest some of the most respected capes are buyable. herblore, prayer, construction, summoning, crafting.

combat stats are respected less, and they aren't buyable. wc and hunter aren't buyable, and I see less respect for them than the above listed buyable stats.

I picked firemaking to it was my first one and didn't use a big budget though it s a lot more active and repetitive while cooking is more afk and easier.

Firemaking is less money, easier, less time and a cooler emote however Cooking can be used in many glitches as stalls.

I would get cooking.
