Is Highschool really the best years of your life?

Was going to post this in the Debate section, but apparently I have been kicked from it, teehee.:s

Anyways, is Highschool really the best years of your life? When I left my Grandparents house this summer my Grandpa told me that they are, and I need to really enjoy myself. Is he right? Like freshmen year was okay, I didn't really like my school, the people, and just the whole High school atmosphere. Now I'm a few weeks in to Sophomore year, a new school, yet everything is the same. I'm really not enjoying it to much, if anything I wish I was back at my old Highschool.

If Highschool years are the best of your life, then why do I, (we) play on the damn computer so much? I wish I knew why, but I don't.

Random Events - Level Requirements

So yesterday i was talking in the rsb chat and an idea popped up in my head. I think Runescape should add more Random events with Level Requirements (some would be members, others nonmembers) and just about all lvl requirements would be low (50 or below maybe). They wouldnt be very hard, almost like the ones right now but they require that skill to get out and get your rewards. I haven't really made ideas about what you would have to do or anything but I will if I can get some positive critizism.

Affects/Defects/Extra things -
1. The Random Events that require lvls will show up on the stat "menu" (like a granite maul requires 50 attack and strength)
2. The higher the lvl required for that, the more experience you will get by doing that activity and/or experience lamp you recieve (and use for that stat)
3. Some high lvl requirements (mainly members) may give out cool new emotes or good rewards (probably not 1m) for people to "show off" to their Peers"
4. These WILL give the experience earned for doing that task
5. Because it will be Members and Non-Members, anyone with those stats will be able to enjoy it if it pops up (cause it still will be random)
6. This will also help encourage the low "pures" to do something else because they will be missing an opertunity (spelling?) and maybe get them more active to do other skills.

This is probably not all, but I don't have all day to write this. So please tell me what you think and feel free to add something or suggest something else, and if you have a question I can probably answer them.

Different capes?

If you'll notice, the girl's herby cape has a little yellow circle behind the herb, while the dude's is just green.

Anybody know why they have different capes?

Intermediate Trim

This idea just came to me. Not really a major suggestion, but could be kind of interesting.

I was thinking about people having multiple 99s and getting their capes automatically trimmed. What if for those players with only two 99s that when they wore their cape, the trim would not be the standard trim, but rather the color of the other cape they had?

So for example, if someone had 99 cooking and 99 herblore, but no other 99s, then when they wore the herby cape, instead of having a gorgeous golden trim, they'd have a purple (cooking's color) trim instead. Then when they got a third 99 they'd get the standard trimmed cape.

It's not a big deal or anything, but I think it would be kind of interesting to see what trims different players would have.

What do you guys think?

This week sees an Elite tier of tasks added to all existing Achievement Diaries (save for Ardougne, which already had Elite tasks, though there is now an Ardougne cloak 4 reward), plus a review of all the old rewards to make them work in a consistent way and be more user friendly. The Lumbridge/Draynor diary has had Hard tasks added instead, all of which are available to free players.
Should you rise to the challenge, you’ll be skilling your way around the world baking pies, fletching bows, manic mining, fighting some seriously dangerous critters and a lot more besides. Face some of the biggest challenges that exist in the world of RuneScape to complete these diaries and, if you succeed, you’ll find yourself worthy of receiving the Elite rewards!
Rewards, I hear you cry? Yes, in true Achievement Diary tradition, you’ll not only get experience lamps, but also some useful rewards to help in your everyday RuneScape life. These can range from the very generic, like teleports, to the very specific, like a handy shortcut in Brimhaven Dungeon.
You’ll also find that existing Achievement Diary rewards will have changed very slightly. Things like toggles for teleports, where possible, are now done by talking to NPCs rather than on the objects. If you have earned the ability to toggle the destination of the Watchtower or Varrock Teleport spells, you’ll find your POH portals will also take you and your friends to wherever you’ve toggled them to go!
Quite a lot of the existing rewards now no longer require the related diary clothing to be worn for you to benefit from them, but, to make sure you’re not missing out on your rewards, you’ll also receive a little message for those times when you would have received a benefit if you had been wearing some Achievement Diary clothing.
The Achievement Diary section of the Game Guide lists all of the new tasks and indicates which rewards require you to be wearing the reward clothing and which ones do not.

Do I have a social problem?

Up until high school I was always a very social person, more of a class clown. I knew everyone, goths, emos, preps, and jocks. Every friday night I would be at the movies hanging out with everyone, and every saturday afternoon I would be at the mall with everyone again. And even at home I never was in my room unless I was sleeping. I also never really minded school, it was no big deal, easy going with friends, and all the work is easy.

But now, as I am entering my sophomore year of high school, I find myself becoming a bit of a recluse. When I am home, I am in my room playing any kind of musical instrument I can get my hands on. I seldom hang out with more than one very close friend whom I have known since first grade, except for the occasional football game that I will attend just to hang out with a certain female I am interested in. I also find myself growing a hatred for my school and most of the people in it. The work is still easy, I just hate being there. EVERYONE judges each other. If you try to be your own person you become hated by everybody. I also never used to mind being looked at, or large crowds. Now if I walk into a classroom late and everybody is looking at me, I get extremely nervous, and start to freak out. And whenever I am being observed at any aspect I have low self esteem.

My questions to you all is, do you think I have a personal problem, Social Anxiety, i.e., or has high school just left it's mark on me?
Do/Did you go through similar things in high school?
Does this just reflect how American culture is evolving into a judgemental, creativity depressed, ball of shit?

Was laying in bed and for some reason I thought of this site and figured I'd drop in and let you all know what has been going on, not that you may care but just for the old buddies.

Well life has been....pretty crazy to say the least haha. I graduated high school in 08' and went to work for a local electric company. Fooled around with that till this past summer and decided I was FINALLY AND SERIOUSLY going to go to college instead of talking about it. While all this was happening I met a girl who I am still with earlier this year. She has a girl whos' dad has nothing to do with it so I am pretty much her dad. She just turned 6 months last week. Anywho I got all my college crap ready and first day of college I went to my morning class at 8:30 and I loved it. I dropped out the next day. Why? because I got a call later that day working for a company that in a couple years would be making more than any college degree could give. I'm sure some of you know the company and probably even have some family working in it. Pike Electric. I live in Kentucky and I work in Columbus, Indiana. It was a tough decision to say the least but I figured I would never get an oppurtunity like this again. But yeah I feel like a success now as conceited (spell?) as that sounds. I make more money than I need right now and everything is just going grand.

I was 15 when I joined this site and now I'm almost 21 haha, I never thought it would be a big as it is now and have as many members. Point is life is what you make it out to be, I'm not trying to get all sappy and crap on you but it is the truth. I hated high school and was always like "Man I cant wait to get out of here" but you know what I would give anything to rewind time and do it all over again except this time acutally try and give it my all. I know you hear people say that all the time and always think you will be different but to be honest you wont. The real world will soon slap you in the face and it's scary. So enjoy those middle school and high school days and dont rush to grow up. I feel like im 40 right now for saying all this, my dad always said the same stuff to me and I was always like yeah yeah whatever. But he was right about everything.

I'm just saying have fun, and don't waste all your time on the computer because you will regret it, or at least I did. But I'm done blabbing haha. Just have fun and take life head on.

I figured this is the best place to post this. But ever since we had the rollback thanks to that "GG" guy hacking RSB I have had trouble with the new posts page and the User Control Panel. They don't update the new threads properly. Half the time I can't even access New Posts. It has been a major problem on my Ipod and MacBook.

So in short is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? And if at all possible can RSB staff fix this problem?

This is from my myspace blog, so here you go!

i just had the most ****ed up dream ever. it started out with me picking new classes for school. i wasnt in fairport or any school i remember, but in the dream i knew the school fine. i picked out a few classes and everything was normal. a lot went on between these times but its not memorable by now as its not that important since i woke up.

but basically the gist of the story is i went to this one class where it was just me and the teacher, and he seemed okay at first, but then he was being just a total dick and a shitty teacher. i would have to do exercises in his class (i think that was the point of the class i took, though) but right now after waking up i dont remember doing any, but i knew that was the point of the class. i also had a class afterwards that made us do some less straining exercises for stretching or meditating or something so it was hard after that shitty class.

but heres the really ****ed up part. one time i went into the bad teacher class, and something happened where i just passed out while i was standing up. i woke up, and was in a dog cage. it was a simple cage up to about my knees so i could walk over it, though. it seemed to be after school at first but i think some teachers were still teaching classes a bit later for some reason.

then i had noticed something; my elbow was broken. or at least, it was really dislocated. a part of it was sticking pretty far out of my arm. there was still skin around it somehow. i could barely move that arm. the whole dream i thought i fell while standing and landed on it and thats how it happened, but after waking up im thinking, he probably somehow put something in my food or somehow made me fall asleep, and then ****ed up my elbow.

but here's even the more ****ed up thing, after walking over the cage limping my arm, the door was locked. for some reason there was some elevator in the room, and i didnt notice it. but then i heard someone coming down and i went towards it for help. it was some girl i knew in the dream but not in real life, i just knew i knew her. she walked into the room and i was freaking out saying we have got to get out of here, and that we go back up the elevator to get back out, but she was saying that it locked as she walked out. for some reason i dont remember how we got out, but i know we did pretty quickly somehow.

the next few days i would skip that class, trying to work with a broken elbow and practically unusable arm. i dont remember parents or going home or going to a doctors. it seemed like at the end of the school day my dream just skipped to the next school day. so i dealt with it and everybody didnt seem to mind that my elbow was sticking out awkwardly. it hurt sort of like when i hurt my hand. i couldnt move it without it hurting. but over a few days, it was slightly movable, but it hurt if i moved it too much, just like my hand. it sucked so bad, because i couldnt write anything in classes or do anything. the teachers didnt seem to mind, but it just hurt and sucked so bad.

since i never went to that one class anymore, i decided i wanted to switch the class. i switched some other one too, but i dont remember why. when going to this new class, i found out it was REALLY ****ed up. the classroom seemed to extend really far, but i couldnt tell because there was some walls in the way, but it just seemed to be pretty huge and have hallways everywhere leading to other areas.

when i walked in, i immediately noticed two of the students bumping into each other, which irritated both of them, and they looked at each other with a knowing-look, and then they both took out a pistol, of which they both shot near the other person, but far enough away where they didnt hit each other. after seeing that i was scared like ****.

i noticed that almost everyone there looked like a gangster type person, with shitty ripped up clothes, tattoos, smoking, buff guys, and a few (but small amount) of similar really unhealthily skinny girls. i know the class i picked didnt have any description to do with this or anything to do with what the class really was.

i went to sit down next to some people as i thought i was supposed to, and i noticed another ****ed up thing. a guy bumped into another guy, and the one seemed like a normal guy. he looked scared and said sorry and hinted that he just wanted to keep walking, but the other guy opened his jacket and showed that he had a pistol inside his jacket, and the normal guy was so worried and had this face like "oh shit god damnit what did i do, am i going to die?". the guy took out his gun and did the same thing as before. he shot RIGHT next to the guys arm, enough where somehow in the dream i saw the bullet fly just BARELY past by him. the two exchanged eyes and the one with the gun put the gun back and then i just looked away.

a few of the people sitting down started talking to me and i got really uncomfortable hoping i wouldnt die. the class then ended, and i noticed this one guy who seemed normal and i knew id seen before and he was like in a higher grade than me or something. i went to talk to him about my ****ed up arm, and i told him the story about how i fell and was in the cage and had to get out and stuff, and as i started talking, class ended, which was the last class of the day. everybody was walking up crowding the steps to lockers to get their shit, meanwhile i kept walking with him and talking to him. after telling him the whole story i walked away and watched as he went upstairs out of view, likely to his locker. i thought about all that happened, and then i woke up.

keep in mind i left out a lot of talking about day-by-day processes of going to each class and my arm being ****ed up and having to deal with it the whole day, because it would take forever to write and be repetitive. man, that was a ****ed up dream, and i hated it. i hope i dont have a dream like that again.
