Try downloading the newest Java.

If what Kriminal said doesn't work, go to the Runescape Home -->Play Now--->Java Options----> Force Sun Java. Worked for me. Only works for IE8

IE is a very bad browser, why don't you try... firefox.
It's very fast, back to the topic.
Do what Kriminal said and type in google "Latest java download"
Only download the java from java.com
