Melee Gear

I am fairly new to member, I have 65 attack/almost 70strength/65 def. I am wondering what i should spend my money (3m) on or save it up for.

I have the best F2P melee gear atm.

Should i just go for all dragon stuff including a schimi or should i save up for other melee instead?

Was thinking dragon boots/plate skirt (its alot cheaper than plants)/chain body/medium helm.

Dragon platelegs
Dragon boots

As for the shield, a rune defender or an obsidian shield would be best.

That outfit is fairly cheap and has some awesome bonuses.

Thanks heaps, just checked prices. Not going to cost me much at all, going to make some quests a lot easier too. Shouldn't make a dint in my bank account since i am making full use of catherby yews/fishing at the moment. Sure as hell beats draynor/barb village.

I never really looked at the granite plate, very nice stats on it. In melee is + strength gear is a lot more prefered than defence against slash/crush/pierce (within reason)?

It probably is.

One thing I will alert you to about whips:
You cannot train only strength with it.
The options are only defence, attack or shared exp.

EDIT: oh, and it requires 70 attack to weild.

dragon dagger(p++) [gotta do quest] [don't get if u can't do monkey maddness quest]

dragon scim [gotta do quest] if the quest is too tough for you then buy a dragon longsword ( u will need to do quest for it also but its very easy)

dragon med helm

obsidian cape

amulet of glory(4)

rune platebody

dragon legs or skirt

obsidian shield or rune kiteshield ( if u can't afford the obby shield)

dragon boots

rune gauntlets

u can get better equipment at our level but they need to do hard quests ..... i had exactly the same stuff when i was member for first time !!!!

Is there any downside to going for Guthans set except for the 300k repair costs? If i have read correctly 15hours of combat and then it needs 300k repair. Quite good value if you ask me since it has massive stats + healing effect.

healing effect isnt THAT great with guthans, but it's good for general training.

I am going to hold out till 70attack/def and buy guthans. Worse comes to worse i can just sell it.
