Wrong section ask a MOD to move it....

To answer your question you need to focus on the skill runecrafting.
You will need a talisman for every rune you want to craft, i.e. an air talisman for air runes, etc.etc.
I believe there is a quest you must complete first to RC, but as Im at work I cannot access RS to tell you the name of it.

Members and Non members can both rc, but non members are limited to the basic runes.

First, you need to speak to Duke Horacio in the middle floor* of Lumbridge Castle, and you will start the Rune Mysteries quest. Once you've finished that sort of small quest, you get to craft runes.

*That's the second floor for Americans, and the first floor for Her Britannic Majesty's subjects.

As runedudePEI said edit your 2 posts into 1.

Now what I do when making AIrs runes,
Carry a water staff/battle staff, and laws in inventory (if you can do Falador tele) And essence.
The Air alatar is south of the Falador EAST bank, just past the wall gate with the 2 guards. Veer slightly west and you and you shall see a ring of stones with a huge stone in the middle, there will be a white light eminating from it.
If you have your Talisman (id recommened making/buying an Air Tiarra)
you may enter the Altar area.
Once inside, well....If you need directions to the Altar (you cannot miss it) then you should quit the game. HINT-YOU CANNOT MISS IT ONCE INSIDE.

If you ever get turned around, you can right-click the talisman and choose "locate". The talisman will guide you to the slightly-glowing ruins. Then use the talisman on the big rock in the middle of the ruins. you'll be teleported into the magic runecrafting plane. Then you can use the essence on the altar in the middle of that little temple, and they become air runes!

Magic! Shazam!

Try accumulating A LOT of essence, because the two ess mines aren't really near any temple except the earth one near Varrock. The two early ones--air and mind--are near Fally.

Air altar: South of falador
Water altar: Lumbridge swamp
Earth Altar: South of Varrock Lumber Mill (craft these for quick xp, close to bank/aubury)
Fire Altar: Just west of Duel Arena
Mind: East of the Monastery, go through the wilderness
Body: Northwest of Barbarian Village
All the F2P altars' locations!
