How to $$ with mining ?

I need some guidance on how to make money with mining skill. I will be leveling it for a long time and i wish to know what ores to mine to get maximum profit at GE.

My mining level is currently 45 and i have been mining Iron all the way :satan:. Also please mention the re spawn time (roughly) of the ore you are suggesting along with the place it is available.

gold ore in crafting guild (40 crafting, brown apron) gold ore about 550gp each (last i checked) or rune ess. (30gp each, rune mysteries quest.) u get ess quicker but you need more to get same cash. if you dont have crafting proabably mine essence. or you could mine coal if you wanted

Here are all of the rocks you can mine at your level:

Rock/Mining Level Needed/Exp Given

Clay 1 5
Copper 1 17.5
Tin 1 17.5
Iron 15 35
Silver 20 40
Coal 30 50
Gold 40 65

This makes me think that either iron or coal would be best for you at the moment. I'd reccomend iron if you are f2p and coal if you are p2p. I'd mine Iron at Varrock East Mine and bank at Varrock East Bank.

I would have to disagree with the above post about Gold because it is very far from the bank and thus not very economical.

You also said you were interested in spawn times so here they are for every rock:

Clay 1 sec - 2 sec
Tin & Copper 2 sec - 4 sec
Iron 5 sec - 10 sec
Silver 1 min - 2 min
Coal 30 sec - 1 min
Gold 1 min - 2 min
Mithril 2 min - 4 min
Adamant 4 min - 8 min
Rune 12m - 25 min

Crafting guild is a bit of a trek for gold unless you use fally tele for the return trip to bank. For ptp, Tzar is right near bank. For levelling, iron ain't bad because you mine it quick and it repsawns nice and quick. And thanks to Summoning it sells fast to summoners as well as those smelting. For a change of pace, you can mine copper maybe in the tutor pit south of Lumby. That's been selling crazy fast on GE and mines in no time.
I like to combat and mine at same time. You heal while mining, right? I've fought scorpions in dwarf mine and desert, skelatons in Edgeville, lessers on Crandor for coal and mithril and mossies for coal and addy.

Also 1 more question - i read of the Mining guild, a place which has got iron, coal, silver, gold and a bank along with a furnace all in one place. Is it true ?

If the above is true should i bank my ores till i reach level 60 or should i just level up to lvl 60 to get access to the guild so that i can mine profitably from there ?

I just calculated that i need 4000 more iron ores to get to level 60 and i will be mining until i get like 300k ores or something.

No. Here is the truth. The Mining Guild is my favorite place to play. It has five mith, a bunch of coal, and a WHOLE lot of competition. My advise? Read my guide. I have made MILLIONS of gold and DOZENS of friends. The guide: Multi-Millionaire's Mining Manifesto. :suave:

Yup. Guild is level 60 but you can sneak in at level 59 and drinking dwarf stout which temporarily raises smith/mining one level. 37 coal and as Keith says five mithril in the guild but quite often very busy. But outside at the dwarf mine end, there are two addy, a couple more mith and a pair of gold ore. And everything else but silver. No furnace but there is one not too far there in Fally.

mingin get you rich. beause you an sell weapons to other online players who will pays lot's more if more than one person wants it. ( best to sell in the exhange or bank ). good minging and smithing = you get lot's of money.

you could mine coal in the dungeons where the hill giants are or gold in al kharid,not sure on the respawn times

There are only two coal in desert mine. They put in another mith instead. Hadn't been there in a while. When did that happen?

im f2p if u have 40 crafting id recomend gold ore at the crafting guild and its not a far walk from fally
