I just read that Black people will sometimes use it in self hate and its the same as the term "cracker" for white people, we generally don't like being called that by non whites (I couldn't care less) when white people use it it is usually said in hate, and I don't see the need to use that word.

But you have to realize that it was a different generation when all of that took place. I doubt that their ancestors or past slaves would appreciate them taking advantage of the fact that they were slaves.

PEOPLE ARE DIFFERENT.
Some blacks may not mind whites saying ****** as much, others may find it awful.
Some whites may be allowed to say ******, some may not.
Some black people may say cracker, others may not.
I find it ridiculous that your just putting all the people of a racial group together as a whole. So no, not all black people are hypocrites.
btw. Whats a situation that a white person says ****** and it's positive? Its just a word, you don't HAVE to say it. So just don't say it and you don't have to worry about it at all.
