Dragon slayer quest question

Ok i'm doing the dragon slayer quest because i am nearing lvl 40 defence, i think i'm either 36 or 37 (cant remember, i trained alot last night) and i found out a week ago that you have to do this quest in order to wear a rune platebody.......i never knew that because when i stopped doing quests i was miles off getting a rune platebody anyway so wouldnt have made a difference

I'm not stuck or anything but i just wondered, it says the dragon is lvl 83 or something and i wondered just how hard is it to defeat.......i'm a lvl 48 and was wondering. Because in one quest i did ages ago i had to defeat this lvl 33 deamon or something like that....and i was lower than lvl 30 and i thought OMG this is going to be hard but after 3 whacks he was down, then i did the nessicary stuff and quest over

so i was just curious, just how hard is this dragon to kill..........dont tell me about the stuff you need for it as i already know because i'm following a walkthrough, i know what to do and stuff so dont tell me that...........all i want to know is how hard is it to kill this dragon as a lvl 48.

when i find out i'll ask an admin to close this so it wont be on forever

It's not that hard, I think you can beat him from around lv 45 when you have food and good armor ;)

well i have full adamant - kiteshield, full helm everything, though i'm gonna be using a dragon shield - obvs........i use a rune scimmy or battle axe depending on my mood and the walkthrough suggested having lobs or swordfish or such stuff so i'm fishing some stuff, so i should be alright then.........thanks :)

Think you need quest to wear green d hide body, too. You in a rush? Get close to 60 with high 40's def. I've done it in the high 40's on a couple accts. High prayer helps, too. You want GOOD food. I watched a level 45 try it with herring. He couldn't eat fast enough. Free trip to Lumby for him. The dragon beats you up at first but slows down. Maybe he gets tired.

I'm in it for rune armour, d hide armour doesnt really appeal to me. No im not in a rush at all, as i said i'm nearing level 40 defence, but not yet. Even so i dont want to waste money on other armour that i'm never going to wear again, pointless really.........Ahh i dont have a high prayer level, its mid 30's. I do have "GOOD" food as you keenly pointed out good.......already said i'm fishing lobsters, they replenish quite a bit of health, so their good enough, anyway, i tend to click on it to eat, then click back on the enemy, that way it cuts time ^_^ but i wont use herring, they dont do anything. I heard the dragon breathes fire at you not beats you up.........so thats new O.o

anyway to the The Rest who commented...........thanks, i just wanted to know how easy it is to basically how long i'd be down their fighting the damn thing really but replies have helped alot thanks again ^_^

Lobbies should get you through it. If you're a member, you can use potions to ease the battle along, esp. def and anti-fire. If ftp, you can still use a strength potion. Like Popeye and his spinach. You can still help the cause by using lower prayers than anti mele like steel skin or whatever.
If you have to bail out, you can hide behind the crumbling wall and tele out. In case you run away, you need to run south to funny wall past lesser demons. If you do end up in the hallway, be careful of level 48 skelatons. They don't care why you're there. They attack. Good luck.

yeh i heard bout using the strength potions, i might use one, dunno. anyway yeh i'm taking a law rune, a fire rune and 3 air runes with me so if i get too far in danger i can just tele to varrock without the time problems
