Membeship help (pref from current or ex-members)

OK i've been trying for months to try and convince my mum to get me a membership, or even a simple thing as putting money in my debit account so i can pay for it myself. She says Jadex take more money than they say and she said she only heard that because someone she knows almost did it. One slight difference - the person she knows is a workmate who payed for WoW, not runescape. But it seems there's no convincing her.

I cant use my mobile because i get topped up once a month only and its either £5 or £10, which i go through like no tomorrow. I cant call each month because then i have to work up a way of hiding the fact i'm spending £4.50 a month on a call line :s and i dont get how the others work (except card payments) so yeh i wanna use a debit payment as its the cheapest, most simple and doesnt require loads of notes around my room reminding me when to keep up my subscription (as i can be forgetful about stuff like this)

I'm on rs most days when i dont have coursework and i'm quite rich now with good levels, some are soon to match up my fishing on the highscores so i wanna make the most of everything as a member. I've tried reasoning with her, saying i'll pay for it off my card if you put my pocket money on there but its like holding water in bare hands with her. So i need some members, or ex members to help me try and get through to at least reasoning with her.

The thing was, i was hopeful once when she said she'd be putting money on my card every month but that was about 6 months ago, and she hasnt put a penny in. So please can you help me out :innocent: :(

P.s.s: (thanks to buo's reply it reminded me) i dont have any other family members because i lost contact with them when my parents split up and i moved away. And i'm a single child so its just me and mum

Well im not quite sure how my friend told me but he said you can buy a visa gift card from a store and pay as much money as you want into that card and the card will have that much money in it....then you use that gift card for paying for the members fee....or else you do what I do ask your sister for help with paying or odler brother whoever has the card...or you could decide to write a paper on why your mom should pay for you....well I have 5 days member left see ya and goodluck! =)

Hmm...i also had to beg so they could put my goddam 50 bucks they owe me. they said they were going to put 5 bucks on christmas day,, and they didnt, so i had to wait till the first of janury, and since they felt sorry for me they let me be a mem for a year,woot! I say you should tell her everytime you see her. Ask nicely or remind her when she leaves to de[posit at least 5 bucks on ur debit.

i got lifetime membership as an early christmas present from my mums new boyfriend.
get your mum to find a boyfriend(someone nice with quite alot of money) and then ask him nicely if he could pay for ur membership, if he says no first of all just tell him its only 11 pence a day(UK) then he might say yes.

were do you live? it varys by area. example: us=$5.00 Canada=$7.30 yet the $ is at par i did it for 4 months and on my moms credit thingie it said $7.30. On rs.com it used to say $5.00 to $7.30 depending on how much you play... maybe they changed it to where you live... if they didnt you could sue them? lol tell your mom it doesnt change and thats from an experienced member who plays rs not wow. and some advice: dont become a mem til they get prices right, but you might make some money

i live in england currently, and the rs membership signup part of the site says its £3.20 per month from a card, £4.50 from a phone and i think £5 from a mobile

Seeing as you're in the UK, yeah, just pop a check or money order from the bank or Quickie Mart in the post. It'll take a bit longer than electronic tender transfer, but better than not at all.

ahh thats a point, i suppose i could remind her about my english coursework grades (so far all my coursework for english has come out straight A......omg wow i'm a nerd in english :pbthh: ) actually i could do that with most grades, i'm going to all my after school classes (all of one) and doing my coursework on time and stuff and also doing really well in piano lesson...............ha i'm gonna try that out tonight, i'ma start it off with

"mum with all my grades and stuff do you reckon you can get me some membership on runescape, (i'll say this word firm) NOT for ages, but like a few months or so, as a treat for my grades"

or i can wait til i get my year report next week or something.......coz she cant call me a liar if its all on my report ^_^

nice i dea but i said before in another post that i dont have any money of my own...........i cant even get a job in my town because all my damn school mates are working in the town i live in, because they just live in villages. Its annoying.....even the job centre says theres nothing in my town, theres stuff in the next town, but getting my mum to drop me off as well might be difficult coz she hates getting up early on weekends =/ hmm....meh i'll still keep looking

I have always paid my membership by my credit card for a year at a time and it has always been the exact amount it is supposed to be. Of course with any credit card if you don't pay it off soon there will be added finance charges.

I got my niece's kids to do some of the RS skills in real life, so their parents will see that the game sparks their curiosity. If your character can do junk, you should be at least as good. During the last year, I baked blueberry pies and some pretty outstanding chickens, I tell you! I can work leather, and I already knew how to shoot a fair hand. I made a chainmail hauberk and coif, too, but your mother won't be very impressed by that.

Show an interest in books on history, mythology (Frazer's the Golden Bough is MESSED UP), animals, calligraphy, metalworking and/or woodcrafting. Ask her to show you these things like cooking and she may like your game better. Just don't get her to try melee...

I dont think she'd be really worried about not spending time with her, my parents split when i was 9 and i'm 16 now, so thats a fair few years she's learnt that i have my own life now.

I cant show her much more interest in history as i'm actually studying it for GCSE and tbh i'm actually teaching her more about history even though she took it O.o ahh well. I have a keen interest in mythology, she even bought me some books on mythology too, i cant get enough of animals i love loads of animals, wild ones more than domestic, the rest......hmm sh wouldnt be bothered if i got interested. I dont really need advice from her on cooking, i'm the cook in the house, we have this system - i cook, she washes the dishes......but yeh.........

no no i used another advice post in here and i'm gonna use my report to get her to put money into my account then use that to get me some membership as i would actually have some money then ^_^

i lost count how many times i have said this but anyway........

i have literally NO money, so with or without a card, memership costs money which i DO NOT have

the caps arent towards you their to anyone who replies in future saying you can pay using this or you can buy it yourself this way..............


yeh but i have no money and still no job of my own because everywhere i go to look there are none, within my town that is, i aint traveling out of my town because its not worth it
