How drop parties work?

I know this is a pretty noob question, but I've never actually seen or participated in a drop party so I really don't know how they work. Do you have to bring stuff and, if so, what kind of stuff do you bring?

Well, it depends on the hoster of the party. Sometimes it's required to bring things (Though it's really hard to tell).

What happens is the people run around and drop whatever's going to be dropped, and the people who want to pick the items up spread out and try to pick up whatever is dropped when it appears.

You go to a house bring something to drop and whatever you drop people will run around picking up stuff that was dropped. Basically it's free goodies being dropped and first one to pick it up wins.

Cool. Thanks. I've been wanting to go to one, but I didn't really know if I should bring something. I wandered because I don't really have much that I could bring to a drop party. Maybe like a 100 big bones or somethin pretty small, but that's about it.
