How do i boost my combat skills

It seams random when my combat skills go up, so is there anyway to get them up. and how you you get your defence up?

didn't you go through tutorial island?

Each time you fight you get eXP which raises your level once you have enough.
You get your defence up when you go click on the two swords icon at your inventory area and from there you can change your style of fighting.

Crush, Slice, Defend are some examples of these style and Defend raises your defence and the others raise strength, attack..

Go into the two swords crossed together.
The ladder will go like this:
Attack
Strength
Controlled
Defence
E.G. Choose the bottem one to train def, It's a bit confusing but u will get it..

yea to get defense up justt click on the 2 sword icon on the style of attacking menu and howw to get your combat up just train your attack,defense,strength and they will go up same as ranging and maging something else is prayer every 8 levels it gives you 1 combat skill

I think its everytime u gain 3 lvls in either attack, strength, and defense or just 1 in each u gain a Combat lvl

i think it is around every three or four levels in attk, def, strength, or hp
