Dragon Slayer-I'm about to do it!

Ok, I'm level 57, so it's about time i did dragon slayer (I know it's late). I can probably do it extremely easily. I have full rune without shield (anti-dragon) and chain. I have a rune scimmy, and I know that Elvarg has a resistance to slash but a weakness to stab (<- That's got to help a lot!). I am carrying 2 str potions and 25 lobbies. But I have one question. I have 43 prayer and I can do protection from melee. But if I put up protection from melee, and I'm fighting up close, will the dragon be smart enough to start using range or magic? Or will it keep hurting by 0?

i dont think so, just be careful i died the first time i tried, if you need i can try to come watch you and get your stuff in case you die.

The dragon will use its dragonbreath to hurt you but the most it will hit is 10 i believe. You'll do fine during the battle.

I saw a guy silly enough to go in without his anti drag sheild. 1 hit kill with a 38

you should do fine, i did it when i was lv 49 (of course i sorta cheated but the other guy stole the attack from me first!) your prayer should help a lot and no Elvarg is not that smart, i think...

i don it when i was 49 just bring a anti drag sheild and some rune armour maby a rune scimmy and lobs

Thanks, I finished it. It was pretty easy, but it did hit 10's and that hurt. I used a few lobbies. About the prayer. Elvarg is smart enough to change to range and magic, but it does use melee sometimes. Same with TzTok Jad, except Elvarg isn't a level 702 monster who can kill you in one hit...

I remeber... I was level 52 going into the cave and slaying the mightie beast. I had lobs, addy armor, rune long. Sadly for me I had 1 prayer :) I beat him but I was hiting only 5s i was meant to hit 13 :/

Maybe because you used slash (Resistance) and not stab (Weakness)? So you only hit 5's.

I remember I beat Elvarg at level 50 with a full inventory of Herring...Nice!

Level 57 really isn't all that late for dragon slayer to be honest. You can do it!

i did it as lvl 52-i had 27 lobs, and i didnt use prayer AT ALL. i had rune full helm, chain, legs, and anti drag shield. i also had ammy of strenth. i went in there and used slash(lol) and i hit like 10s,9s,7s,and 8s. i ate bout 18 of my lobs.

i havent even done melzars maze and im lvl 56
my freind lost 17k while trying to kill the dragon hes locked now...
