I am non-members (f2p).

Is it a good idea to runecraft while being f2p or is it better to cut yews? (which I can do...)

Well, if you want to runecraft, you can. But train on airs so you can craft many air runes from one essence, which = profit.

Yes it doesn't hurt to raise any skill, but cutting yews will be more profitable for f2p.

You would get more cash out of yews but rune craft is fun

do you want to cut yew in ff2p? there is too many autoer, you can always abyss crafting which is way faster, but I think you should runescrafting till you are 91 that is when money come in for 2x nature

runecrafting is good because if you are level 33+ you can make 4 airs per ess which mean that if u buy 1k ess for 30ea and craft into 4k airs you can sell for 20gp each which is 80k, thats 50k profit, but it dose take a long time, i sugest going to world 16 (air rune central) so u will have lots of ppl to keep you company and you can follow people between bank and alter to save effort of clicking lol.
