So I don't get out a lot. My hours are goofy and unreliable, so I don't get to social functions.

Is a drop party sponsered by one or a few guys, who chip in all the goodies and the people who show up just get to take free presents? Or is it like a pot-luck where you're expected to all bring a thing (and is the thing-value announced)? When you drop-party in Seers' Village, who pays?

I'd hate to think the invite was open, and then get a dlong or something and the party-thrower says "Who the fudge are you! Give that back!". Or put in an addy axe when everyone else puts in dragonstones. It's bad enough I'm cheap - but to feel even cheaper than I am is a shame.

"The only dumb question is the one you don't ask."

A Drop Party is usually held in celebration of a certain player. This can be because it is that player's birthday, they reached lvl 99 in skill, or any number of reasons.

Whoever organizes the party is usually the one doing most of the dropping. If the host is celebrating something about themself, they most likely will be doing all the dropping. So in general whomever sets the party up will be doing the most expensive dropping. Possibly their close friends may drop items high in value.

Those drop parties that you see everyone following one very rich guy that is forming the party in the streets, then that one guy is probably dropping everything. Most everyone else is just there to horde the items.

The parties in Seer Village, most people bring a little something as it is indeed a public party. Most private parties are held at the host's house. The host of Seers parites generally decides when the Pot is big enough and then pays to pull the lever.

Cool! Thank you! So a drop party in a house is just a matter of the host walking around and literally selecting 'drop' on the item? Not nearly as exciting as popping a balloon. So one needs to build a balloon bin in one's attic to drop into the parlour, I guess.
