Fighting with 2 weapons?

At some point, I am told you can fight with 2 weapons (i.e. D-Long and DDP) instead of 1 weapon and a shield. What are the stat and/or quest requirements to achieve this?

I haven't seen anything like that. I don't think it is true.

There are weapons you hold in two hands like spears, halberts and 2h swords, but they act as normal weapons (t.e. no double hits ot such). There are also torag hammers which even look like 2 separate weapons in 2 hands, but they also are just a type of a normal weapon.

Ya hammers would be the only thing I could think of too. I hve done all but 11 quests and havnt seen or heard anything like that

wait now there is a thing in one of the guilds where its a wep thats in the shield slot called a defender but still not a 2 hit attack

i think you mean t hammers they are 2 hammers where you can't where sheild that you fite with but it only does one damage for them hitting.

When you have that, you can go into the Warriors Guild in Burthrope. Theres a special currency you can obtain there which allows you to go into a special room for a certain amount of minutes. There are cyclops in that room and you must kill them until they drop a bronze defender. Go talk to the npc outside the room and you can work on getting an iron defender, etc.

A defender takes place of a shield and looks like a tiny sword. All it does is give a good attack and strength bonus instead of defense.

Good luck on getting a rune defender, keep an addy defender in your bank incase you lose the rune one from dying so you can get another one...I just dropped the other defenders to save bank space
