Mage Account Qustions

Hey, I'm a f2p and i am starting to make a mage account. I was just wondering if you want pure mage then should you get your defense up a bit too? Also, does anyone have any suggestions for which monsters to fight which allow easy hitpoints for when i reach about level 40+?

Pure mages should also use a bit of range. This helps split the armor bonuses and you get hp while training range so you don't have to worry about it half as much when you are maging.

Bont won't that bring my combat lvl up?

It may bring your combat level up a little, but the extra bonuses make up for that. As you're f2p, you should stick with 40 range and get your mage very high.

alright, thanks alot, oh and should i get my prayer/ defense up, because for prayer i think im going to need level 25(keep 1 extra item) and maybe defense, but im not too sure if it is a good idea or not.

no just get 40 range and high mage the def does not help much because of robes and what would u keep as a mage?
