Making GP in RS

What would you guys suggest as being the best way to make GP when you first start out on RS?

should i do the quests or keep killin stuff?

If you have just started playing, I think the best way to earn $ is killing cows, picking the cowhides. then sell them for 100 gp ea. :wink:

You should get your mining up so you mine coal and sell the coal for 150gp each or either do what lovefire0 suggested with her cowhides~ 100gp scheme

If your free, then mine or woodcut and sell the coal/ willow or yew logs. If your p2p then fletch yew longs and high alch them. If you have real low stats then you're just gonna have to train cus the real money doesnt come in til you have around 60/70 plus stats. unless you can craft natures, thats pretty decent money even if it is one of the slower ways.

if it was me i would go to edgvill and just north of the bank there is a building with lots of men. train here, u get exp and money.

When I was a noob I went to the Steel Chest Respawn Area and switched worlds repeatively to get tons of Steel Chests then I'd sell them to that one person who buys them near Varrock Bank, Hovick or something?

Well you could also fish. Its probably the most boring skill in the beggining, but once your start getting into it the fish sell for quite a bit. Level 40 fishing is good, you can fish lobbies that sometimes go for 200ea. :mrgreen:

If you are new I would start out with mining and smithing. Selling the armour makes quite good armour when you go to addy-rune. It is very boring though, I would suggest woodcutting and fishing. Also Runecrafting is good.

Anywho, when i was a n00b all i did was mine and craft my asse off. It really works, then i sold coal 100gp ea 300 at a time basically.

i killed chickens and when ig ot 10k feathers, i looked ion the fouarms for a buyer and sell em all! U can do this even if u are not a memeber. secrets will remain untold :P

Wc prices:

Yew logs = 250-300gp ea.

Maple logs = 100-200gp ea.

Willows = 25-50gp ea.

Magics = 900gp-1k ea.


Ore Prices:

Coal = 150-170gp ea.

Mith = 250-300gp ea.

Addy = 800-1k ea.

Rune = ????? no set price...it keeps on changing

Umm... If you are just starting Rs and have low stats, I would suggest mining rune essence, It doesn't take long, and you can sell for 30-40 each. It's a very easy way for beginners to make money. If you're a member, pick flax. Don't even bother spinning it. You get 1 flax every couple seconds, and they sell for 100gp each.

Yeah, Rune Essence is about the best way to make money, Seeing as 1k Ess can be 40k... I mean, if their stats are low anyway they wont need anything more then full rune or something.

There's only one way for a fr00b to make money.
Train one of your non-combat stats (I suggest woodcutting and fishing)
Save all your logs or lobbies or whatever you just trained on.
Remember, willows can be sold for 40 GP and lobbies can be sold for 300 GP!
When you get about 1M startup GP, you can finally start merchanting rares (the fastest way).
Remember that the prices of rares are variable, so check the official forum to see what the prices are!

Well, if the Rune Ess plan doesn't work you could kill cows and sell the hides 100-150ea. Or, you could go the feather route and kill chickens, sell the feathers 5-10ea. Then, there is always the money making skills. Fishing is good, sell your food to pker in edgeville. Mining\smithing is very good too, selling steel bars can make good cash. Woodcut is my favorite, click the tree and watch the money flow in, selling logs to fletchers is very easy. Then there is staking in the duelarena, I have known people that have made 10m+ in a day by staking. Then there is my other personal favorite, pking. Pking can be very profitable if you are successful. Then there is the greatest way to make money in Rs, merchanting. Simply buy cheap, sell high.

Pking is actually hit or miss, so dont go bounding into the wildy unless you are a pure or higher than lvl 40, or else you will be owned by a low level pure and will make quite the opposite of money. I personally prefer mining and selling ores, but you can also woodcut (if you are very determined you can get 60 woodcutting in only 12-18 hours, and earn a few k's frow willows while your at it) Or you can do jobs like
Cowhides
Feathers
Runs (be careful here, you might get scammed).

If p2p just pick and sell flax.

Merchanting is really slow until you get like 800k gp, then and only then is it worth it.

Fishing in p2p i dont like since you have to go to karmadjah, which is too far away for me.

TBH, do this, until you have like 5k rune ess, sell it for as high a price as you can, preferably on a forum, but for no less than 30gp each. Then merchant it, buy for like 20-30 and sell for 30-40 on the forums, depending on how much you bought it for of course. This will make you a mint, doesn't matter on your levels or whether you are p2p or not. This will work for anyone! It just might take a while to get the 5k ess.

if ur a p2p then just steal grey wolf furs in aldrounge till u get 10k of them and go sell them in varrock to the fur trader for 120 each or go to lv12 wildy and collect green drag hides when they drop.they drop above the black wizs and be sure to bring a anti-drag breath sheild or u die really fast.

Hey , umm one of the best ways to make money is get your woodcutting level up to 75 and , get membership. So you can cut magic trees (magic logs sell for 1k each)

Tim trust me with the amount of people cutting magic trees might want to keep cuttin them yews till you get 85 wc. Most people that cut magics have 80 or above wc.
But i do think woodcutting is one of the best ways to make cash fast.

but if u have a little of money u can buy ess for 20gp or mine it when there are buyers, its a really easy way to make money ;) i made 300k in 2 days(i think it was 8k ess overprice :D)
