having problem on dwarf cannon

I seem to be having a problem finishing the dwarf cannon quest. I have the toolkit and the commander told me to go fix cannon in shed. I went there and try to use toolkit with cannon and everytime I get the message "nothing interesting happens"
I thought I was supposed to get a screen that lets me pick tools to use on each part but I must be doing anything wrong

You are on step 6 of dwarf cannon according to runehq. Here's that step and it should help you out.

6.Upon your return you learn that the base cannon needs fixing. Take the toolkit and go in the shed. Inspect each part until you finally fix all of them. You have a great chance of failing multiple times, just try again.

Ok I'll post again when I get back to it, was working on Heroes at same time and just had to catch lava eel when I found out couldnt make oily rod cause herblore lvl wasnt high enough to mix tarromin...sooooo working on herblore to finish Heroes then I will go back to dwrarf cannon.

read those guides just in case ...I have no idea what Im doing wrong. I never even get the option to inspect parts only to examine them, unless that is the same thing. Have examined them like 100 times and all it says is you see a bunch of cannon parts. I dont see them each only as a bunch, Should I get an option to "inspect them"? If I talk to commander again he just asks if it's fixed yet. It's driving me crazy lol

Ya cause Im about to give up trying and go on to something else, course Ill have to come back to it eventually cause I want the cape thats coming out for completing all quests

dwarf cannon was the first member quest i did for cballs
it took me almost a half hour but u just g2 keep trying..if it doesnt work, pm me? ill try to help u

It's probably just me cause everyone tells me the same thing and maybe I just need to examine the parts more as L8kerfan said I should expect to fail several times but I may pm some of you when I try again.
