axe help?

when you break your axe, can you reattach with another axe head??
i want to try this because i have a mithril axe head a friend will let me have and i am currently using a bronze axe that broke

i found a rune axe head and attached it to my bronze handle when it broke

i then sold axe to some one for 43k

i don't think its possible to take off your axe head
i think it will only come off as a random event

don't quote me on that tho
