ok here it goes i made this on a different account here at rsb but i forgot my pass and my email is acting retarded so i made a new account and i guess im posting a whole guide in one post...wow...
Here is a guide to making a Mage Tank
Ok lets see where should i start...
So you want to make a mage tank? But you dont know how? well this guide will help you make a successful mage tank and own other players like crazy!
Ok the first thing about mage tanks is that the have lvl 40+ defence to with stand attacks from other player while still attacking the opponant at the same time, so there NOT pures.
Your going to need some cash to be a mage pures because you cant pick up you runes like ou can arrows, So i suggest doing both strongholds to get 20k on you newly created char. Now if you need more money collect your runes from the mage tutor by droping your airs and minds a little ways away from here and collect the other runes pick up you minds and air's, you should have about 45minds and 55 airs. Right click on the mage tutor and press
"work for-Mage tutor" Keep doing jobs alternating between all the tutors get about another 10k from them you should now have about 30k.
Now the basics supplies you will need are listed below:
Stalve set about 7-8k
Bronze axe-free from the wood cutting tutor
Runes as many as desired between 200-400 ea. 10-15k
Wizard clothing set-1k
Where to train:
Ok starting out you should just train on cows behind the crafting guild get to about 15 mage, Now Your sort of strong but you probably low on runes so you need to make more money so just go to my other guide Ultimate guide to everything and make about 100k then come back...
Ahh your back ok then Now with your 100k buy 1k of every rune except for chaos and deaths only but about 500chaos and 0 deaths
Now your have a good stock of runes so you should head over the the cow field again and train untill your at about 20-25mage, Now you can start training on the higher lvl 28 Hobgoblins across the river remember to stay on the other side of of the river where they are not and just keep training on them when you get to about 35mage you should have a good hp lvl so now keep making money and get about 500k Buy 1k chaos and 1k all other runes you should have 350k left Buy lobbys and swordies which ever one you perfer, now you can go to the jail guards in draynor and they are a great place to train you can get to about 50mage on these guys and then you should probably hit the fleshcrawlers.
These are amazing xp and are extremly easy to kill so you can go al the way to 60mage on these. you need to buy like 1k deaths and more runes now your done with magic.
To the defence part, Now you should go make about 300k and buy 1 set of every armour including rune without the platebody. buy a iron scimmy, now some people prefer geting the strength up as well which is perfectly fine, Now for places to kill your going go back to the Ultimate guide to everything and make sure yourusing the best armour possible, if you ot your stength up aswell then you should do dragon slayer its will only help you
so you should have about
60mage
40defence
50str (optional)
And a realy amazing mage tank! go kil some noobs make some moey in bounty hunter dont get banned

Heres the other guides that metioned int he last post:
OK umm the username i had before was Godlyskull and its also my runescape name so hit me up if you have anymore questions
hi, it is me godlyskull once again and i am going to share with you all the way that i made my millions and became successful
the first we all need to do is train whether you look forward to it or not you just kinda have to i will give you my two sense on where i belive where the most successful spots for me along my journey.
lower lvls: (lvl3 -30)
cows
chickens
goblins
goats
monks
Medium lvls: (lvl 31-50)
flesh crawlers
jail guards
alkarrid warriors
bandit camp
skeleton
zombies
hobgoblins
dark wizards
Higher lvls: (lvl 51-100)
flesh crawlers
jail guards
bandit camp
lessers demons
black knights
white knights
moss giants
hill giants
deadly red spiders
and thats all i have for you at the moment and i hope the combat part of this guide has helped you
Now, for bringing in the cash you going to need to find a skill that you like for instance me it was woodcutting i am currently lvl 70
now what ever it is i will tell you how to make a profit from that
fishing:
start netting for shrimps in draynor near the willows net untill you get to lvl 10 fishing, from here buy bait and a fishing pole, now right click on the fishing spot in draynor and select the option "bait" you will begin catching herring and sardines just keep banking and baiting. once you get to about 30 fishing i would suggest you to buy a large qaunity of feathers because here is where the cash starts comeing in, with you fly fishing rod start to "lure" the fishing spot you will begin to catch trout and salmon.i forgot to mention you should fly fish in lumbridge across the river and bank on the top floor of the castle.
once you get to about 35-40 fishing get out the bait again and start catching pike in the river where you fly fished at once you hit lvl 45 fishing make your way to the grand exchange and sell all of your fish you should have around 50k
i would now suggest fishing for lobsters and tuna on karamaja island these are going to be the ones that make you most successful
Woodcutting:
start out in draynor as welljust slightly west of the market this a lot with numerous trees this is where you will cut trees till you get to lvl 15 and able to cut oaks. may I suggest burniong your regular oaks and willows logs because the market price is incredibly low and not a soul on earth buys them.
now from lvl 15-30 you need to kinda find your own oaks there are some in draynor scattered around but close enough to the bank. now get your tinder box and burn all the logs you have in your bank. with your tiunderbox and axe go to rimmington there are willows there not many people know about. It will probably take you 3 days to get to lvl 60 wc but thats alright its all investment for the future ( to get there faster sell the willows instead of buring them in the general store)
once you get to 60 wc get a rune axe and during the day cut yews behind lumbridge and in front of draynor, during the night cut yews in edgeville not many people are there at night. sell your yews in lots of 1000 and you will get about 400k each time
Mining:
Start mining in lumbridge you may need to look on your world map but there is a mine feild east of the lumbridge grave yard. mine 1 lot of tin then 1 lot of copper over and over again till you reach 15 mining. you can bank your ores ontop of the castle. once you get 15 mining you will start making so decent money mine iron under falador and its should only take you about 5hours to get 1k iron ore which is about 80-110k depending on the buyer. in no time you will get to lvl 60 mining and you should have atleast 1mill, you now can enter the mining guild mine coal and mitheral rocks sell coal in bundles of 500 for 180ea and mitheral ores in bundels of 250 for 500ea and if you just keep doing this for however long you desire you will have your dream armour.
Tip: Play your favorite song,or bands music while playing things go by much faster.
Thank you for reading my guide on success i really hope you can make a living with it! I will soon have the guide for out for Range,Mage,Pures<and last but not least tanks

There are a lot of pures you can make, the possibilities are endless. What you want largely effects how you're going to train it and what stats you'll have that makes a decent type of that pure. One of them is a range/2h pure.
What to Train:
Ranged
Strength
Attack
Prayer (optional)
Magic (advisable, even though the Combat Triangle, in its basic circumstances are supposed to give rangers the advantage over mages, that is so NOT true. I've seen several rangers get owned in 2 or 3 hits by mages using Wind Blast. I advise you get a decent Magic level so you have a decent Magic defence against Mages.)
What NOT to train:
Defence (keep it at 1, training defence ruins your range/2h'er)
Tip for training levels: I advise you train in this order: Attack>Strength>Ranged>Magic
I recommend for a decent range/2h'er, your Ranged level, to keep in balance with your other stats, should be (2/3)*(Attack level+ Strength level.) So if your attack is 40 and your Strength is 50, they add up to 90....two-thirds of 90 is 60, so you'll have 40 Attack, 50 Strength, and 60 Ranged.
-Training Attack-
To get started on Attack right away, go to the knight (Sir Vant?) in that new tutorial place which is underground. It's northwest of the Lumbridge Castle, I think, it'll have a red "!" sign on it. Get 2 XP lamps from him. They grant 250xp per lamp, select attack for both lamps.
This should raise you to 5-6 attack. Then, go grab your sword, climb up the ladder and follow the road near the dummy place (where there's a Melee dummy, Magic dummy and ranged targets...) until you see some spiders and goblins around a sort of broken down house, it's in the middle between Draynor and Lumbridge. I'm NOT talking about the Goblin house just ahead of the stone bridge in Lumbridge. Now that you already have 5-6 attack, training wil be a snap. You can get 5-20 Attack easily here. You'll need to use shrimp, though. They cost 5gp each and heal 3hp each. Buy 100-200 of them.
When you get 20 Attack, I have a couple of money making methods you can use:
-Money Making-
1) Collect regular bones. They sell easy, and are worth around 70gp each. Collect a stock of around 100-200 in your bank before you decide to sell so you have enough to buy ammunition to train ranged. You can find these bones near and in Lumbridge frequently because there are so many goblins and newbies dying. I suggest you look near and in the Goblin house just ahead of the bridge for your best source of bones. It's close to the Lumbridge bank too.
2) Do the Rune Mysteries quest, get an iron pickaxe and mine Rune Essence. You start the quest by going to lumbridge castle and go to the second floor where the Duke is, talk to him, and ask if he has any quests for you. It's a relatively easy and short quest for you to do, you just go back and forth between Aubury in Varrock and the Wizard guy in the basement of Wizard's Tower a couple of times.
3)Training mining through Copper ore. Copper ore gives 17.5 XP an ore, and it is worth around 70gp each, and they sell easy. You can get 1-10 mining in around 10 minutes in just two loads of ore. The type of pickaxe you use for this doesn't matter. When you have around 60 copper ore (which you'll have from training your mining to level 10), go to the Grand Exchange, sell them, and buy a steel pickaxe.
This part is to be done in conjunction with the Rune Mysteries quets. Get your steel pickaxe, go to Aubury's rune shop and ask him to teleport you to the Rune Essence mine. Mine your inventory of Rune Essence (you mine 1 rune essence in around 4 seconds, so a full inventory mined takes 2 minutes and a half, roughly). There is a bank right ahead of the rune shop, so bank your Essence there and repeat.
You can get around 24k/hour with this method.
4) Picking potatoes. The easiest method as you don't need to train any skills to pick potatoes, but it is somewhat long. Go to the potato patch just north of Lumbridge, near where this year's holiday event is taking place with Jack Frost. It is the same route many players without Varrock Teleport take to get to Varrock. It's in the middle of Varrock and Lumbridge. Go inside the patch and pick a full inventory of potatoes. These sell for around 80gp each easily on the Exchange. You can make around 2.2k of cash a load with these. Bank them in Varrock by following the road northwest of the patch, until you see a bank. Then follow the road back to the patch, and repeat. You can also bank in Al-Kharid.
5) Killing chickens. Chickens often drop feathers in amounts of 5-20. You don't even have to kill chickens, just look for feathers on top of a dead turkey and pick them up. When you get 1000-2000 feathers, sell them for 5gp each.*
*This method is only recommended for long term training. I only recommend you use this method when training ranged on the chickens.
-Training Strength-
Now, back to the combat training method. You probably have much more than enough money by now to afford a mithril scimitar (worth around 530gp). Since you'll most likely have at least 10K, just go buy some food and a mithril scimitar. For the food I recommend you use shrimp. They are 5gp each. You can buy 100 for 500gp, since they will last more than long enough for you to get 1-20 strength.
I recommend you train strength on the spider/goblin spot in the middle of Draynor and Lumbridge where I told you train Attack, initially. When you have around 30 Strength, you should train Ranged. To train ranged, you'll need: Arrows, and ranged armour, which consist of Chaps (leg armour), the body, bow (shortbow) and coif. (Can't wear coif until 20 ranged). Buy 1000 bronze arrows from the ranged shop in Varrock (the shop is a bit west of Horvik's armor shop and then south). Arrows there sell 7gp each, buy 1000 for 7000. I don't recomment you buy bronze arrows from the Exchange even though they are cheaper (by 1gp) because they are often take too long to sell on the Exchange.
Besides arrows, you'll of course need your ranged armour and bow. You probably already have a bow given to you by Vannaka or Sir Vant depending on which Tutorial you finished. Buy an Oak Shortbow (60gp), and also buy a Willow shortbow (120gp) and Maple shortbow (240gp), totalling 420gp. Buy a coif from the Exchange, and buy a regular leather body and chaps for 10gp each (the often sell for 9gp).
Add up your totals:
At least 10K to begin with from using a method I listed earlier:
10,000gp
Mithril Scimitar: 530gp
Shrimp(100): 500gp
Bronze Arrows(1000):7000gp
Bows (Oak,Willow,Maple): 420gp
Total spent: 8450gp
Money left: 1550gp. You can make more money by using any, or more than one of the methods I listed before, or experiment and find a method that suits you. :-)
-Training Ranged-
The main part of a Range/2h'er is Ranged, of course. Don't forget the tip I told you: for a decent 2h'er, you range has to be two-thirds the sum of your Attack and Strength. If you have 50 Strength and 40 Attack, you'll have 60 ranged because 50+40=90 and 2/3*90=60. I recommend you train ranged in the chicken coop, just behind where the potato patch is. Train from 1-20 here. Your ranged inventory will consist of this:
Shortbow(s): Basic/Oak/Willow/Maple
Food: Shrimp (optional, but not really needed)
Armor: Coif, Leather Body and Leather Chaps
You don't have to worry about bringing shrimp, as you'll be ranging the chickens. You can range the chickens from either inside or just outside the coop, although I prefer to train ranged inside because you can pick up your arrows. The chicken's don't hit on me at all and my range/2h has 1 defence, so most likely you'll be fine. You'll have more than 10hp from training attack and strength already, most likely around 20. Now tha you are training ranged, I feel compelled to share with you this formula to calculate how much HPxp you get from training levels:
Hpxp=((exp)/4)*1.3)+1200
Say you have 1000 Attack xp, 2000 Strength xp, and 100 ranged xp. You plug those number in for exp.
Hpxp=((1000+2000+100)/4)*1.3+1200
Hpxp=((3100/4)*1.3)+1200
Hpxp=(775*1.3)+1200
Hpxp=1007.5+1200
Hpxp=2207.5 or 14HP, since you need 2100 HPxp to get to 14HP.
If you want to know how much HPXP (and HP Levels) from training Ranged, Attack, Strength (and Magic, if you plan on going to PvP and killing Mages), use the table from http://www.runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Experience
and plug in the experience needed to get to your goal level from level one, divide it by 4 and you know the rest. :-)
Now that the HP explaining is over, well, the rest is easy. Range like crazy. I suggest you train Ranged on Accurate mode, because if you use Rapid mode from this level you will be hitting a lot of 0s as opposed to hitting a bit slower (but hitting a lot) of the time. Pick up the feathers from your kills if you get any, or any lying around as you can sell them and get more money to do whatever you want with. If you want to use your funds to advance your training, that is preferable.
When you get 5 ranged, start using the Oak shortbow.
Keep training ranged till level 20 ranged, don (put on) your coif, equip your willow shortbow and start going towards the cow pen. It is a bit west of the toll gate seperating Lumbridge and Al-Kharid. The toll gate is directly north of the stone bridge over the river Lum. You will need food to train on the cows here as you'll be ranging inside, as you'll need to pick up your arrows. You may use shrimp, but if you have enough money left, go for bread. As before, pick up the drops from the cows as you would with the chickens. Cows don't drop feathers, but they drop cowhides, which are worth around 110gp each. Make sure you'll have enough room in your inventory for food, though. When you have enough cowhides, you can bank them in Lumbridge bank (top floor of Lumbridge castle) or Al-Kharid (Bank there is north west of the two small ponds you see when you first enter Al-Kharid from the toll gate). When you have 25 ranged, you should move on, from there you should have at least 6K worth of cowhides to sell, if you wish to.
-Moving On-
I suggest you now move on to the scorpions in the Dwarven mines. The Dwarven mines' south of Ice Mountain. Climb down the ladder to the mine, and from there, go west a bit and then north into the scorpions where there are rocks. You can go behind these rocks and range scorpions from here without getting yourself hurt. Don't let this put your guard down, though. Scorpions are agressive to people under level 29 (for level 14 scorpions) and under level 65 (for level 32 King scorpions). I suggest you bring trout for food this time. They heal 7 each and are worth ~35gp each. With the money you got from selling the feathers and cowhides, you should have around 15K if not more. Buy at least 150.
Back to hiding behind rocks and ranging scorpions. Ranging (or maging) behind a spot where monsters can't reach you to attack is called safespotting. Respectively, the spot that prevents the monster from attacking you is called a safe spot, and they are found in a lot of training spots. Scorpions are good to train on as the level 14 ones (the ones you'll be training on initially) have 17-18HP, you get 4xp per 1 damage, so you get 68-72 ranged xp per scorpion. They have low defence, so the XP will be decent. You can use bronze arrows to range them with, and I guarantee you'll hit more times than you'll miss. For this to be a good guarantee, though, I suggest you get 25 ranged from training on the cows before moving on here. When you get 30 ranged, equip your Maple shortbow. In a day or 2 you can have around 40 ranged, maybe even more, from training here. :-) From 35-ish ranged, you can start using Rapid mode and still expect to hit often. NOTE: Scorpions don't drop anything when they die, so to make money, just use the other methods from training ranged or the 4 initial ones I told you about, for the next section)
-Training Magic-
As I said before, training Magic is good as it provides defense against those mages in PvP who'll use Wind Blast and higher spells against you. If you can, go to the Stronghold of Player Safety near Edgeville (NOT to be confused with the Stronghold of Security in Barb. Village) and go under the trapdoor near the stronghold there. Talk to the guard; he'll tell you that you need to read the 10 plaques which are placed on every one of the goblins cell doors. 10 imprisoned goblins, 10 plaqes to read. When you are done reading all of them, he'll ask you to view the "Report Abuse" System.
When you do that. he'll give you permission to go to the surface, which is the class room. There, you'll be handed a test by the teacher in the room, a quiz about online safety. Get all the questions right, it's only about 5 of them, and he'll give you 2 500xp lamps. Use the lamps on Magic to get your magic level to around 10. If you have enough money left, go buy 500 water runes, 500 mind runes, and 1000 air runes, which will total you to around 27,000gp. From your choice of runes you can tell you'll be using water strike to train on monsters. I suggest you go down to Varrock Sewers, near the wilderness ditch and mage the rats there. Bring food too, of course, preferably bread/trout. Runes too.
You can also buy body runes (along with water runes), but keep the earth and water runes, and you can start cursing the rats when you get to level 19 magic from training magic with Water Blast. Curse is a spell you unlock at level 19 magic, and it gives 29 magic xp per cast. The good thing about magic is that it has a whole variety of spells, not just combat ones, but teleport spells, cooking spells, healing spells, transformation spells...a whole arsenal. And plus, even if your spell cast "splashes" (meaning the speel in question didn't cast sucessfully), you'll still get awarded magic XP!
That's all for this guide, I hope it helped ^^
