I want to get to 50 smithing, should I merchant and buy iron bars? I think I need about 1k iron bars, so what's the price? Also, what's the price of an addy plate and legs? If anyone can help, please reply. Thanks. :D

I'm making iron plates btw.

Ores are 40-80ea
Bars are 80-160ea

I would suggest mining, because they are so easy, but do whatever you want.

Well i'm 49 almost 50 smithing and I just mined my own iron and bought it when I saw people selling for low prices. I want to be able to make full mithril but that's a long term goal. lol

Mmmm. some charge 100 gp per iron, lol merchant iron ores and soon you will have a huge amount, take some and smith them.

Well I really can't criticize Jason for ripping off noobs, I myself sometimes hire them to collect 300 cowhides for 1k gp and full iron.

The best things are to rip-off noobs in Dwarven mines and to mine it yourself. Most of the time i mine it myself then smith. Steel gives the best Xp for smithing and Mith is too slow.

i reckon get 500k and buy 1k steel bars make cannon balls and sell for a total of 600k and keep buying 1k steel untill you have 750k then make 10k cannon balls again and again untill 1.5 mill and you will have at least 60 smithing and you will also be rich

in the first post you dont say anything about not having a members acount
and incase there is anyone who is reading who cant make cannon balls yet this i have decided to add something for you:

buy all bronze bars (about 20-50gp each) and every 500 you get make 100 bronze plates then when you can make anything iron that uses 3+ bars buy iron(50-100gp each) and make them untill you can make canon balls

I am currently 82 mining and 74 smithing.

One thing i would not reccomend doing is buying huge amounts of iron ore and smelting and smithing and....by the time you're half way though you just feel like commiting suicide lol.

Currently my favourite way to level is to buy coal and mine mithril (i will do this till i can mine rune). Use port phasym furnace, forget the big furnace thing that needs half the coal - the bank runs there also make u feel like commitin suicide

Also unless you have alot of money you dont mind wasting then dont buy bars, stick with ores, i have a couple of hundred mill atm but i still wouldnt buy bars... it just isnt worth it.

From my experience i would say the best way to level smithing is to use steel and mithril chest plates (whichever is the best you can make). If you want mining as well then buy some and mine some, ie buy the coal mine the mith. If you just want smithing just buy ores, mithril is still favourable to other materials.

well thats my opinion anyway :D

hey guys you didnt pay attention to his post (maybe you did but...)
you never answered his other question
"what is the price of addy plate and legs?"
i think you can buy it for like 12k, maybe less, maybe more

nice mining and smithing!!!
anyway i just wanted to add that smithing is a bit anoying and normally pointless (unless ur f2p) as it is so much easier just to fletch and then merchant when you have the money but good luck anyway
