i had a question about what happens when runescape wants you to be a moderator. i got this email and it said that if i answered to it with this number and my account name and pass then i would become a mod. i was wondering if this is even true. i thought they never asked for your email or sent you a email. please respond as soon as possible. to contact me email me at kingdre13@gmail.com.

That particular dirt bag scammer sent you that email, to steal your account!

Well if you simply look at the sender and the email address, you can tell if it is jagex or not. Basically all of there emails will have @jagex.com on the email. Anything else is a fake.

Jagex will never e-mail you

I got that off of the RS website.

You know it's a scammer because Jagex asks players to become mods by messenging their RS account.

thats not true because there are programs and sites u can use to change ur email to show as @"what-u-want-here".com

My friend who has played the game for nearly a year, got scammed recently for "armour trimming"

If in doubt, ask on forums....

I hate dirtbags like that. People like that ruin the game. NEVER EVER GIVE YOUR ACCOUNT INFO TO ANYONE. Jagex wouldn't need your info they already have it. And keep your account pass different from any other passwords you already use. Sorry it happened to you man.

It amazes me though that people fall for such easy cons now days. I am a police officer by trade and daily am taking reports on people getting REAL bank accounts wiped because of basically same scams..
